September 2020 Newsletter - The Hebrew Month of Elul
"Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that He may raise you up in due time. Casting all your anxiety on Him for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks around seeking whom he may devour, whom we resist steadfast in the faith." I Peter 5:6-9
The devil MAY NOT devour us because we are being changed daily into the image of Christ. As a result we've moved to another realm where we are HIDDEN IN HIM. The wicked one touches us not!
"So may God shower His peace on you. May the blessings of faith and love fill your hearts from God and the Lord Jesus. Abundant grace be with you all." Ephesians 6:23-24
This realm of peace has in it - faith, love and grace.
Realm - a place where chaos is not allowed to enter. Chaos - sickness, strife, war, brokenness, loss.
Peace is not just a feeling, it's a location, a position, a place, an environment. Inside those boundaries are faith, love and grace.
Because of that "Peace Of Christ" realm:
* I am at rest.
* I am complete.
* I am content.
Our world right now is in a time of political hostilities, global threats, racism, terrorism. It seems like some have lost their minds. But running parallel with that is another "realm," the Kingdom of Heaven. None of that chaos exists there. The common denominator in this environment is health, success, righteousness, justice, deliverance, joy and everything good!
The faith advantage we have in this situation: We sit in heavenly places!!
"He has raised us up and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:6
Declarations:
• I sit in heavenly places.
• I gain new perspective for every situation.
• I rule from a higher position.
The Hebrew month of Elul was when Israel should have moved to take their promised land! But, they didn't. All because of a huge grape and a giant person.
During this season of Elul, the king would come out of the palace and set up a tent in a field. No protocol necessary, no appointment made. Access was granted at anytime. If you showed up under the tent, you had an audience with the king. There were enemies living on Israel's promised land. If they had believed and acted on the word of the Lord, the King would've been in their field to deal with those giants. The huge grapes would have fed their families well and the giants would have been big targets, not to be missed.
Elul for us is divine access into our new place. Let's head for the tent! That tent represents the peace of God that creates the environment for faith and love. No chaos in God's tent. What is celebrated in Elul is our perpetual dwelling place with King Jesus.
DeeAnn and I bless you and thank you for spreading His goodness in your workplace, your ministry, your home and in our lives.
